On Thursday, August 30th, WesternU CSHP hosted its first intern workshop in the AMP1 classroom. Students had the opportunity to interact with current inpatient pharmacy interns and inquire about their roles and responsibilities in the hospital setting. Students from the following institutions were present: City of Hope, Whittier Hospital Medical Center, San Antonio Regional Medical Center, Anaheim Regional Medical Center, Coast Plaza Hospital, and VA Learning Opportunities Residency Program (VALOR). The workshop was conducted in a “speed-dating” format where groups of 5-6 students would have 7 minutes to interview one intern before rotating to the next. Overall, the students were very engaged and motivated to learn from students who had first-hand experience in the inpatient setting.
